Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus' entry into Jerusalem and is celebrated on the Sunday before Easter. It marks the first day in Holy Week and occurs during the last week of Lent. Palm Sunday gets its name from the blessing and distribution of palm branches, which were originally scattered in front of Jesus as he arrived in Jerusalem. These palms are usually used during the church ceremony, such as being folded into crosses or distributed to be taken home.
